MBCA Driving Event in Germany with AMGs
How does a drive in an AMG SLS or other AMG vehicle in Germany sound? And, how about a drive on the Autobahn and a tour inside AMG headquarters in Affalterbach? This coming June, you can do it all.
The Mercedes-Benz Club of America (MBCA) is offering members who own or drive AMG vehicles an exclusive opportunity to participate in the first MBCA SLS AMG Performance Week in Germany. This event will not be available elsewhere. It only costs $45 to join MBCA, if you’re not already a member.
The event will feature partipants’ driving the SLS and other AMG vehicles on a variety of roads in Germany as well as on the Autobahn. There will be an in depth visit to the Sindelfingen plant, the SLS production area, and the Center of Excellence; you’ll also visit the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the Classic Center.
The trip is scheduled for June 5 to June 10 and will not be offered again in 2011. Our friend Jim O’Sullivan is the contact person; tell Jim that Greg Magnus said hello! Additional information, clarification, and registration details are available here for those interested.

While we are not sure as to why so few have taken us up on our offer, we wanted to again explain the program. By filling out the DMV’s VSA-10 form and sending it to the club along with $10, indicates an interest, the GWS club will deposit each $10 check into their account and once 350 forms have been collected, they will turn in the all 350 VSA-10 forms along with $3,500 to the DMV. This will show the elected officials that the club has the support and they will in-turn instruct DMV to develop a plate. READ MORE »
