BTW, someone in Charlottesville recently listed an exceptionally nice red 560SL for a good price. If I wasn’t blissfully happy with my chocolate 450SL I’d jump on it. 1992 400E, silver/gray, black leather, 144,000 miles. Perfect condition. Just inspected. I have had this car since early 1995 when it came off lease at 25,000 miles. All scheduled maintenance (every 15,000) miles has been performed. Additionally, in OCT. 2008, CROSSROADS Mercedes performed $7k extensive preventative maintenance, i.e. replaced most gaskets, engine mounts, suspension bushings, ignition harness, engine mounts, etc. This car was initially manufactured for the German autobahn before being imported to the U.S. It has a 280 HP V-8 and is extremely fast. cruises at 70 MPH at 2200 RPM. 18 mpg in city & 25 mpg highway. I’m looking for a new home for my 1981 380SL chocolate brown/palomino leather interior. THE GOOD:New convertible (brown) top. Has 112,600 miles. Rebuilt transmission and engine. All new fuses in box, new cruise control. Great top-down driving. THE BAD: Power steering leak (about 4oz/mo), Odometer stopped at current mileage 4 mos ago (speedometer is fine), Compressor for air/heat and automatic temp control do not work (Defrost and heat fine), clock/one light in dash intermittent. Inspection good until June 11. THE UGLY: Not a thing, still beautiful. Asking $4500. Includes storage stand for hard top.
