Election of Club officers and directors is fast approaching. And, the opportunity is open to you as a member of our club.

Join us on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 7:00PM for a section conference call to discuss section planning, management and the upcoming elections. All members are invited to join the conference call. How?

Those elected will take office in November, 2011. It is now time for you to get involved; meet dozens of fellow enthusiasts, plan events and enjoy learning more about your Mercedes-Benz. It’s simple – to qualify, you need to be a current section member and have a desire to serve the club and its members while having fun doing so!

And, we accomplished our goal once again.

Central Virginia Members as well as neighboring section members gathered at Robyn and Gary Tyers’ summer home on the Rappahannock River to enjoy a perfect day. A cool summer breeze accompanied us as we enjoyed a beautiful water view, an early dinner on the porch and the comradery of fellow Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts. Hand churned ice cream and s’mores on the back lawn topped off the afternoon. What else do we need to say?

MBCA Central Virginia – Board Meeting

During the picnic, the board met to discuss club business, the upcoming officer elections and future events. The next event is “tentatively scheduled” for Nov. 14, which will be a rally to Yorktown and a visit to Auto Haus. Details of the event will be provided in our newsletter as well as published on our website soon – subscribe to this website if you would like the info when it is published (before the newsletter comes out).

The attendance for  the MBCA Section Presidents’ Meeting is far beyond our expectations! We have 52 sections represented with over 65 total in attendance.  This number is above and beyond the National Board Members.  We will have close to 100 people at the meeting.

The draft agenda for the Section President’s Meeting is below. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 30, during the MBCA National Board meeting (Indianapolis, IN). Included are several presentations as well as break-out group discussion sessions.

Ed Johnson will act as our meeting Moderator.  National President, Pete Lesler will make the initial introductions. Following the lunch break, there will be 15 minute presentations on the following topics:

  • Social networking to improve MBCA awareness

  • Marketing and Branding Taskforce
    - Doug Dees
  • FTP server, website developments and raffle update, zip codes
    - National Business Office (NBO, David & Renee)

Based on the responses and the agenda items, we are looking forward to an informative and productive meeting where we can all network together for the common good of the club.

This year’s spring meeting will take place on April 29, 2009 through May 1, 2009 in Indianapolis just prior to StarTech 2009. The National Board Meeting is one of the best places to meet and mingle with your club leaders.

As you know from the board meeting minutes published in The Star, a variety of topics are covered during the meetings: national event planning, membership campaigns, section newsletters, finances and more. All MBCA members are welcome, and encouraged, to attend the committee meetings (April 29-30) as well as the official board meeting that will be held on May 1. Location? The Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport in Indianapolis, IN.
